The firecracker was a fav as far as the rolls. The buffet is fresh & offers an excellent variety. The staff is very attentive & friendly & the dining area & buffet are clean with plenty of seating. We were in town for a 4 day business conference & ate there 2 of our 4 days.

All you can eat crabs and sushi for under $30 bucks!? Hell yeah! The hot food wasn't worth trying but you can order off the sushi menu as much as you want. On the buffet were nigiri rolls, crab legs, oysters, mussels and all sorts of seafood. The hot bar wasn't fresh but the ribs were good and fatty. All the rolls we ordered were delicious. You really need to have an appetite to make this worth it. Service was really good. Look for the cool gold tree outside of the restaurant. Not an easy entrance off of 7200 south. Windy path to the entrance but once you get in, enjoy!

I have to say...Sukiya exceeded our expectations. After a day of skiing we were looking for a place to eat and this came up in our search. All the food and sushi tastes very fresh and delicious. The variety of sushi, hot foods, fruits and dessert was more than enough to satisfy us. We are on vacation and it was so good that we even went twice during our trip. I really wish we had this level of restaurant back home in Atlanta. We have been to many sushi and seafood buffets and this one definitely ranks pretty high. The service is excellent as well. Servers make their rounds at appropriate times to check on you and take plates away. Diana was our server and she was amazing.

Sukiya is the gastronomic embodiment of the transpacific passage, sporting a wide variety of buffet options from sushi to dim sum to tiramisu. Dinner prices come just shy of $33 but for an additional $7 you can choose their premium selections and opt for their seemingly endless array of rolls in addition to the regular buffet spread. We shared the A5 Wagyu nigiri which was good but I can't say there was much discerning this and a fatty cut of some USDA prime steak. Novelty aside from the coveted A5 name, this dish was still good. What was simply sublime were the unlimited snow crab legs. Something visceral took over as I bolted to and from the crab leg station, cracking a myriad of snow crabs with just these hands. For the price and AYCE gimmick I expected little but received moist, flavorful legs in one lunch sitting. I will say that the sashimi options were few, and I wasn't about to risk the terror of bad raw scallops but this aside, it's a decent buffet. The staff are also friendly but served us the bill quite early in. All is forgiven, though, with the snow crab saving grace.

A restaurant for me is not only good food, but the experience the staff provides.I went a little after 3pm... the restaurant was practically empty. I caught a little bit of attitude from the hostess, whom asked me if I was by myself (obviously) but then proceeded to seat me... way in the back corner on an empty huge restaurant. I had to ask to be seated in a booth towards the front. After taking my order... my server came back to me and said that I was given the dinner prices, which I had no idea. (not a good start) I believe this restaurant is quite new, so it was well kept and clean ...the presentation of the buffet stations were beautiful. I tried a taste a little of everything. The sushi rolls, sashimi and other seafood dishes tasted good except for the oyster shooter, oyster and a half shell,,.. on the fishy side. They also have an assortment of hot dishes which were delicious and flavorful. Drinks are also included in the price. (Soda, hot tea, iced tea., boba tea) and for dessert... assortment of cakes (dried and flavorless) assortment of puddings (very tasty) my favorite was the taro&tapioca pudding (like moms) assortment of fruits and moose. Overall, my server (Luna) was super friendly but I was a bit disappointed in the service... towards the end of my meal, there was a pile of plates that had not been picked up.The tables next to me were being cleared.... Was it because I was a single? (less tip) Didn't think I needed to take a picture of the pile plates There's a great selection of sushi, sashimi, side dishes, seafood, drinks, hot dishes, salads and desserts.., a little for everyone's taste. Well worth the price. Maybe next time I'll have a better experience. (3 stars experience) UPDATE: Excellent service (5 stars experience) Today is Sunday around 4 PM, I came back for the second time my server... Julio gave a phenomenon experience! He's a very knowledgeable, professional, attentive and kind...(definitely captain material) As before the food here is excellent. You definitely get a little bit of choice for everyone. I got a chance to try their crab legs and half of a dungeon is crab. I also ordered a Specialty Roll this time. Lobster Volcano roll without the sauce. (with sauce would have been better) I think they meant crawfish and not lobster... Overall, I had a great experience, good food and lots of drinks included. I definitely will be a regular customer.

Definitely worth the price you pay for the buffet! There were a ton of options in the buffet and on the sushi menu to choose from. It's not going to be the best food you've ever had, but it's definitely good enough to add to the rotation of restaurants to go to. Our waiter was very kind and was always nearby in case we wanted to order more sushi. One thing I'll note is that the buffet does not mark anything as being vegetarian/vegan/gluten free and also doesn't put a description for the foods other than the name, so if you have dietary restrictions, it's difficult to navigate what you can and can't eat.

My friend and I decided to try this place for the first time tonight. We got the all you can seafood buffet special with a lobster tail, total price just under $40/per person. It also includes any sushi rolls on the menu. We were very happy with the quality of the food and the service. It was very clean, had a nice variety of food including salads, soups, desserts, appetizers, sushi and main courses. Definitely felt like it was worth the spend and I will be back again next year!

This place was recommended by a friend, and I loved it. I did the buffet combo, all-you-can-eat sushi, and it was great. I do believe this will be great coming home in a group to share different sushi. There were other things to try, and they were also good.

I have a difficult time trusting seafood buffets, especially when the seafood is served raw and when the price point is $26/per person. However, my expectations were blown out of the water because of the fresh array of nigiri and sashimi. Honestly, the texture and flavor of the nigiri was so good and buttery, just a few bites made the meal feel worth it! (My goal at every AYCE is to eat my money's worth, and this place makes it extremely easy.) I didn't try any of the signature rolls because I'm more of a nigiri fan and it did not disappoint! Salmon, tuna, escolar, scallops, and (my favorite!) yellowtail were all available and all delicious. The chefs were working directly behind the bar so you could see them rotate out the old food and restock the buffet with fresh rolls and sashimi. By the time I ate my fill of nigiri, however, I didn't even have the chance to try their Chinese food! (Although, their honey walnut shrimp was very good.) Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would love to go again the next time I'm in Salt Lake!

I had a fantastic experience dining at Sukiya! Highly recommend it to everyone! I was impressed by the variety of food they had. Their sashimi includes salmon, tuna, yellowtail, scallop, surf clam, and many more. Other than sushi, they served really good Chinese food, including Sichuan food. I loved this kind of ayce because I wouldn't just be eating cold food the entire time. Another thing I appreciate about Sukiya is that boba, fruits, and desserts are included. Most ayce restaurants would at most provide soda, which I don't drink. Sukiya has mango and melon boba options. For the fruits, they had strawberries, watermelon, cherries, grapes, etc. Moreover, I was so surprised to find that they had LYCHEE!!!! I haven't eaten those in years! I was delighted and enjoyed the lychee very much. As for the desserts, my favorite was the creme brulee and the coconut jello. Originally, they were doing a grand opening special giving out sashimi plates. The owner, who is from Japan, said they switched out the uni because they found out the uni was not very fresh. That says a lot about the owner and the type of restaurant it is! They also had great customer service. I trust Sukiya and its quality, and I will definitely come back!
